A New Car for the Holidays
After searching for most of the month of November, I finally purchased, and picked up today, a brand new Lexus RX 350. I don’t know why I even bothered looking at anything other than Lexus. Both Christine and I have had nothing but spectacular things to say about their cars and customer service. This is now our third and I can already see more in our future. While some of the competitions’ offerings were extremely competitive and compelling, Lexus still won by, what I would consider to be, a large margin.
My RX 350 is silver with black leather upholstery and dark wood trim. I got the upgraded model with navigation, heated seats/mirrors, and 18" seven spoke wheels. After driving it around town this evening, I can definitely see how it got it’s "fastest car in class" rating. The 6.9 second 0-60 Mph times that have been reported in various articles appear to be correct. Believe it or not, this CUV is .2 seconds faster than my old 2001 IS 300. I haven’t had inclement weather that would allow me to thoroughly test its AWD system, but it does seem to have a good grip on the road. The ride is very soft and feels very luxurious. Normally I prefer a sportier feel but didn’t want to compromise on other aspects like reliability, customer service, and features, and also can’t really say anything bad about the ride at all. It does exactly what it’s supposed to.
