It’s so hard to say goodbye

I have owned my car for almost seven years.  In that time, I’ve driven it a scant 20,000 miles but have loved every second of it.  Unfortunately, having a small, sporty car hasn’t been very practical recently.  I’ve been looking at pickup trucks and SUVs keeping in mind the home improvements that I’ve been doing and the fact that I’d like to become a more dedicated woodworking hobbyist.

Since I expect to be purchasing a new car before the end of the year, I’m going to start advertising my car to see if there are any takers.

For any of you who may be reading this now, I own a 2001 Titanium Silver Metallic, Lexus IS300.  The car has 20,000 miles, black leather\suede heated seats, heated mirrors, a limited slip differential, and has been kept in immaculate condition.  It’s going to be hard parting ways with it, but it’s something I have to do.  Here are some pictures in case you’re interested:

Currently I’m asking $18,500.  I’m willing to hear other offers but have very limited room for negotiation.  The car, truly, is in showroom condition.

Ubuntu, on Jason’s computer? Say it ain’t so…

Around the time of my 31st birthday, Ubuntu is slated to release it’s successor to Gutsy Gibbon, Hardy Heron.  For this, version 8.04, release, one of the community’s main goals will be Long Term Support (LTS).  I was pretty excited to hear that, since frequent updates and changes were the main reasons I never adopted Linux other then very lightly and casually (it also didn’t help that being a Microsoft Systems Administrator was paying my bills).  I can honestly say this goes a long way towards making me want to reevaluate pros and cons of running Linux, Windows or OSX.  A LTS offering would make Linux much more attractive to many consumers and, even more so, to the enterprise.

I don’t know that I’m convinced Ubuntu will replace Windows as my primary operating system at home (at least not initially,) but I fully intend on putting forth some effort into making Linux work for me.

More basement construction

Having to frame a basement really sucks.  There are pipes everywhere, and I’m wasting a lot of time building soffits for them.  Here are some updated pictures.
